Alternative Tentacles

Alternative Tentacles is an underground punk record label that was established in 1979 in San Francisco, California, USA. It later expanded to have a sublabel/office in London, UK. The label gained recognition when it released the self-produced single "California Über Alles" for the *Dead Kennedys*. Realizing the potential for an independent label, Alternative Tentacles went on to release records for other bands as well. Originally formed by *East Bay Ray* and *Jello Biafra*, Biafra became the owner of Alternative Tentacles in the mid-1980s. However, it's important to note that Alternative Tentacles no longer owns the rights to Dead Kennedys recordings due to a lawsuit in 2000.

With its distinctive sound and rebellious spirit, Alternative Tentacles has been at the forefront of punk music since its inception. Its dedication to supporting independent artists and pushing boundaries has made it a respected name within the industry.
