Enter Shikari are an English four-piece rock band formed in 2003 in St Albans, Hertfordshire. They have a unique sound that combines post-hardcore and various heavy metal sub-genres with elements of electronic genres like industrial, dubstep, trance, and drum and bass. The band's name comes from a boat owned by Roughton "Rou" Reynolds' uncle and a character in a play he wrote before forming the band.
Their debut album, Take to the Skies, reached No. 4 on the Official UK Album Chart when it was released on March 19, 2007. Their second album, Common Dreads, debuted at No. 16 on the UK Albums Chart on June 15, 2009. A Flash Flood of Colour, their third studio album released on January 16, 2012 spent most of its release week at the top of the UK Album Chart but eventually debuted at No.4.
After extensively touring for A Flash Flood of Colour World Tour, Enter Shikari began working on their fourth studio album which was titled The Mindsweep and released in January 2015. It debuted at No.6 on the UK Albums Chart.

Out of the blue, and exactly one year to the day from the release of the album Nothing Is True and Everything Is Possible, Enter Shikari release the companion collection Moratorium (Broadcasts From The Interruption).

Upon its release, Nothing Is True… received universal critical acclaim, gave the band their sixth UK top 10 Album Chart placing (finishing the week at #2, their highest position yet) and by end of 2020 had been chosen as Album Of The Year in the annual Kerrang Magazine reader’s poll, as well as earning the band their second Rock Sound cover in twelve months, as one of the magazines choices for Class Of 2020.

With the worldwide pandemic and resulting lockdowns hitting the UK a couple of weeks prior to the release of Nothing Is True..., all traditional promotional activity, along with any hope of live shows, was shelved. Enter Shikari looked for other avenues to keep themselves, and their fanbase, entertained. 

Broadcasts From The Interruption was the umbrella moniker for the various home studio sessions and acoustic performances Enter Shikari recorded and released on YouTube and elsewhere.

The band chose the best and most interesting from the large available selection of performances - originally created for media outlets such as Kerrang and Rock Sound in the UK, Russia’s Afisha and Snob magazines (and even a UK daytime TV slot on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch), along with special performances for 2000 Trees and Five 4 Five’s online festivals - and these have now been properly mixed by Rou Reynolds, mastered and compiled for worldwide release.
