Jackie Wilson was an American soul singer-songwriter and performer. Born on June 9, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan, USA, he made a significant impact on the music industry with his powerful vocals and energetic stage presence. Wilson's contributions to soul music earned him a well-deserved induction into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 as a performer. Throughout his career, he captivated audiences with hits like "Lonely Teardrops" and "Higher and Higher." He was the son of Eliza Wilson and married to Freda Wilson.

With his smooth voice and charismatic performances, Jackie Wilson influenced many artists in the genre. Some similar artists include *Smokey Robinson & The Miracles*, *Wilson Pickett*, *Martha Reeves & The Vandellas*, *The Impressions*, and *The Marvelettes*.
