Jim Croce was an American singer and songwriter, born on January 10, 1943 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He tragically passed away at the age of 30 in an airplane crash in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Despite his short career, Croce left a lasting impact on the music industry with his heartfelt songs and captivating storytelling.

Croce's music resonated with audiences through his relatable lyrics and soulful voice. You Don’t Mess Around With Jim was Croce’s 3rd Album, released in 1972, and is considered his breakthrough album. The record spent 93 weeks on the charts, longer than any other Jim Croce album. Due to the strong performance of the posthumous single release "Time in a Bottle" , You Don't Mess Around with Jim was the best-selling album in the U.S. for five weeks in early 1974
