Album artwork for Batukfreak by Karol Conka

This is the debut album 'Batuk Freak' by Brazillian hip-hop, rap crossover artist, Karol Conka. The album is produced by Nave, the man behind the beats for such Brazilian rap greats as Emicida (MTV Iggy call's him "the Brazilian Jay Z") and multi-award winner Marcelo D2. The album is a mix of rap, hip-hop, and electronic funk. Elsewhere in the world it is known as baile funk, which refers not to the music, but to the actual parties where the music is played. The genre is an authentic expression of low-income communities and sexual freedom in Brazilian society. In London, Mr Bongo Records produced a baile funk compilation with artist Tetine, entitled 'Slum Dunk Presents Funk Carioca mixed by Tetine.' 'Corre, Corre Ere' was the first track to come from this electronic Brazilian beats album, which presents the sound of Karol Conka. First time sang live, the audience begged for more. For a sneak peak to what the future album holds, watch the music video for 'Corre, Corre Ere.' Karol Conka is the emerging talent to be on the lookout for in 2013.
