Play It Again Sam is a major independent distributor and label. The distribution company has been in operation since 1982, while the label operates under the name Play It Again Sam. In 2010, the PIAS Group launched the new "Play It Again Sam" label from their London offices.

Over the years, the distribution company has also used other names such as [label1] (since the mid-1980s), [label2] (for example, used for the labels [label3] and [label4]), and [label5] (since around 2001).

The *Play It Again Sam* label is known for its diverse roster of talented artists and performers. With a focus on independent music, they have built a reputation for discovering unique talent across various genres. New Fast Automatic Daffodils (a.k.a. "New FADs") were an indie rock group from Manchester, England, active between 1988 and 1995. Their early material combined danceable guitar licks with elements of post-punk, funk, dub and Krautrock. The band's songwriting evolved on their second album, "Body Exit Mind", showcasing a broader emotional range. They reached their creative peak on the third album, "Love It All", which marked the end of their journey as a group.

The band consisted of Andy Spearpoint on vocals, Justin Crawford on bass, Dolan Hewison on guitar, Perry Saunders on drums, and Icarus Wilson-Wright on percussion.

New Fast Automatic Daffodils (also known as New FADS) were an
alternative rock band from Manchester, England, formed in 1988 by Andy
Spearpoint, Dolan Hewison, Icarus Wilson-Wright, Justin Crawford and Perry
Saunders. The band had a distinctly more artistic and experimental style
than many other bands associated with the then popular baggy / madchester
style, music reminiscent of A Certain Ratio as well as Happy Mondays.
Signed in 1990 to Play It Again Sam Records, their debut album,
Pigeonhole, reached the UK top 50 in November. The band released nine
singles and three albums before breaking up in 1996.
