Big Brother Recordings was established in 2000 by the iconic British band Oasis to oversee their releases in the UK and Ireland. The label's name pays homage to Noel Gallagher, Oasis' guitarist and songwriter, who is also the elder brother of lead singer Liam Gallagher. Each release from Big Brother carries a catalogue number prefixed with "RKID," which references Liam as "our kid" - a term commonly used in North-West England for a younger sibling. Notably, the label's debut release was the single "Go Let It Out" on February 7, 2000 (catalogue number 'RKID 001'). In addition to Oasis' music, Big Brother has also released works by other talented artists such as Happy Mondays.

Oasis is a rock band from Burnage, Manchester, formed in 1991. The band was created after the members of a previous group called The Rain decided to part ways with their lead vocalist and bring in [a53887] as the new frontman. With the addition of [a5452], who had previously worked as a guitar roadie for [a=Inspiral Carpets]' [a=Clint Boon], Oasis began to establish themselves as a force in the music industry.

In 1999, two founding members left Oasis and Noel Gallagher took on their roles for the fourth album. This led to the recruitment of two new musicians, [a447669] and [a80566], who initially joined for touring purposes but eventually became full-time members and contributed to songwriting on subsequent albums.

However, tensions within the band reached a breaking point in 2009 when Noel Gallagher announced his departure following an altercation with his brother Liam. Despite this setback, the remaining members continued performing under the name Beady Eye while Noel went on to form his own solo project.

This year marks 25 years since Oasis’ two iconic record breaking live concerts at Knebworth Park in Hertfordshire on the 10th and 11th August 1996. The shows were both the pinnacle of the band’s success and a landmark gathering for a generation of young people.

Released alongside the cinema debut of the feature length documentary film of the event, Oasis Knebworth 1996 is the definitive live recording featuring a setlist packed with stone cold classics album taken from across both nights of the concert, from the opening salvoes of ‘Columbia’ and ‘Acquiesce’, to ‘Champagne Supernova’, ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, ‘Live Forever’, an orchestra backed ‘I Am The Walrus’, and ‘Wonderwall’ the first song from the 1990’s to reach over one billion streams on Spotify and universally loved anthem.

The DVD and Blu-ray formats feature ‘Oasis Knebworth 1996’ - the eagerly anticipated feature length documentary telling the story of the special relationship between Oasis and their fans that made the largest concert of the ‘90’s possible, directed by Grammy Award-winner Jake Scott. It is told entirely in the moment through the eyes of the fans who were there, built around extensive and never before seen archive concert and backstage footage from the event, with additional interviews with the band and concert organisers. Both formats also include the full concerts from both nights edited by Dick Carruthers with audio mixed by Will Shapland in Dolby 5.1 surround sound.
