Description

In 1980, Mayo Thompson replaced Herman on guitar for the album The Art of Walking. Pere Ubu continue their psychedelic direction, the barbarism of their previous work is abstracted and removed. With The Art of Walking the band withdraws into ascetic meditations so achieving a serene delirium. These are the moments post-orgasm as conscious thoughts flood the mind. Ravenstone's keyboards take the leading role; the band's new sound characterised by growing dissonance.
