Pet Shop Boys are an English musical duo formed in London in 1981. The duo consists of Neil Tennant, who handles main vocals, keyboards, and occasional guitar, and Chris Lowe, who plays keyboards and occasionally provides vocals. They hold the title of the most successful duo in UK music history according to The Guinness Book of Records.
In the early 90s, Pet Shop Boys operated their own record labels including Spaghetti Recordings. More recently, they have been associated with Olde English and Lucky Kunst labels.
In March 2013, after a long-standing relationship with Parlophone spanning 28 years, the duo officially left the label. They entered into a new arrangement with Kobalt Label Services for their twelfth studio album. This album marked their first release on their own music imprint called x2 (2).

Rhino Records, also known as Rhino, is a renowned music label that was established in 1973 by Richard Foos. Starting as a record store in Westwood California, Rhino quickly gained recognition with its first successful release "Go To Rhino Records" by Wild Man Fischer in 1975. The label's early logo featured "Rocky the Rhino" and focused on novelty, surf, local new wave bands, and reissues of out-of-print records from other labels.

Under the guidance of Bill Inglot for production, Ken Perry for mastering, and A&R team Gary Stewart and James Austin, Rhino expanded its catalog to include a wide range of reissues by the mid-1980s. The label underwent a logo redesign during this time period to simply "Rhino". In 1984, Rhino released its first CD and became known for manufacturing high-quality CDs made by Sanyo (1984-85) and various manufacturers from Japan or Switzerland thereafter.

In 1985, Rhino entered into a distribution deal with Capitol Records which lasted until 1992. This partnership allowed access to Capitol's back catalog and led to the release of reissues of old Capitol albums. Additionally, EMI and Rhino acquired the Roulette family of labels in 1989. As their deal with Capitol came to an end in 1992, Time-Warner offered an opportunity for growth. Half of the label was sold to Time-Warner

Pet Shop Boys announce ‘Catalogue: 1985-2012’, a very special series of reissues of all their studio albums released on Parlophone. This definitive edition features each album from the duo’s peerless discography on the label, remastered and released with additional ‘Further listening’ albums of bonus tracks, demos and mixes created in the same period of time as each album. Many tracks are being released for the first time. Each album is accompanied by an extensive booklet in which Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe discuss each song, illustrated with many archive photographs. The entire project is designed by Farrow. Nightlife is their darkly orchestrated collaboration with producers Rollo, Craig Armstrong and David Morales, originally released in 1999, is reissued with two “Further listening” CDs, including exclusive, unreleased tracks such as Little Black Dress, Tall Thin Men and For All of Us and demo versions of Vampires, Call Me Old-Fashioned and Radiophonic.
