Piero Umiliani was an Italian composer of film scores and library music. He was born on July 17, 1926 in Florence, Italy and passed away on February 14, 2001 in Rome, Italy. Throughout his career, he composed and recorded numerous soundtracks, library albums, and TV title themes. Umiliani became famous for his song "Mah Nà Mah Nà," which gained worldwide recognition after being performed on The Muppet Show. He played a significant role in shaping the style of European jazz-influenced film soundtracks during the '60s and '70s.

Born in Florence in 1926, Piero Umiliani gained international recognition with his composition for the OST of "I Soliti Ignoti" (Big Deal on Madonna Street) in 1959. This marked the first time jazz music was used in an Italian comedy movie. His talent continued to shine through as he collaborated with renowned artists such as Chet Baker and Helen Merrill for other notable soundtracks like "Smog." In 1970, Umiliani established Liuto Edizioni Musicali publishing company and Sound Work Shop recording studio.

With a focus on reissuing Italian prog classics and releasing newer music, BTF continues the legacy of Vinyl Magic. The label is also known for collaborating with other sister labels from the company. BTF srl is responsible for managing all aspects of the label's operations.

Originally known as Vinyl Magic, BTF took over all brands, stock, and licenses from its predecessor when it rebranded in 1999 as VM 2000. Despite the name change, BTF remains committed to preserving and promoting Italian prog classics through their reissues. They also release new music that aligns with their artistic vision.

In addition to their own releases, BTF collaborates with other sister labels within the company to bring unique and diverse musical experiences to listeners. Their dedication to quality and authenticity has made them a respected authority in the industry.

This soundtrack follows the previous La notte è fatta per... rubare (Night is Made for Stealing) which marked the beginning of Umiliani’s collaboration with the director.&nbsp;Mainly displaying a Latin American flavour, it contains several elements typical of the composer’s style, mixing bossa nova and samba with beat rhythms and Hammond organ, and is enriched by various&nbsp;vocal contributions from Alessandro Alessandroni’s Cantori Moderni. Distorted electric guitars with orchestral ensemble also create an atmosphere between spy and detective story.&nbsp;None of “The Archangel” tracks have ever been released in any form for many years, and to date there are only three CD editions only issued in Japan.
