Pinegrove is an American indie rock band from Montclair, New Jersey. The band name is a reference to the Brown Family Environmental Center at Kenyon College, where lyricist Evan Stephens Hall studied. With Evan on lead vocals and guitar, Josh Marre on guitar and vocals, Nandi Plunkett on keys and vocals, Sam Skinner on guitar, Adan Carlo on bass, and Zack Levine on drums and vocals; Pinegrove creates a unique blend of heartfelt lyrics and melodic soundscapes that have captivated audiences worldwide.
Formed in 2010, Pinegrove has gained recognition for their introspective songwriting style and raw emotional performances. Their music explores themes of love, loss, self-discovery, and the complexities of human relationships. Drawing inspiration from various genres including folk-rock, country, emo, and punk; Pinegrove's sound is both nostalgic and contemporary.
With critically acclaimed albums such as "Cardinal" (2016) and "Skylight" (2018), Pinegrove has established themselves as one of the most influential indie rock bands of their generation. Their honest lyrics resonate with listeners who appreciate authentic storytelling through music. Whether performing intimate acoustic sets or energetic live shows filled with infectious energy; Pinegrove continues to push boundaries while staying true to their roots.

Rough Trade is a multinational label that was started by Geoff Travis in 1976 as a London record-shop. It quickly grew into an independent label and distributor, collaborating with notable labels such as 4AD, Factory Records, and One Little Indian. The label's catalogue numbering system for singles/EPs included prefixes like RT### and RTT###CD for different formats. Albums were numbered sequentially as ROUGH### with extensions for different formats.In the early 1990s, Rough Trade faced financial difficulties after expanding into the US market. The US branch was shut down and the German branch ended up in the Zomba Music Group. One Little Indian provided financing and took over the label in the UK, retaining ownership of key releases like A.R. Kane albums. Geoff Travis eventually regained control of Rough Trade around 1999–2000 and re-launched it alongside Tugboat Records.

Founded by childhood friends Evan Stephens Hall and Zack Levine, Pinegrove have already crafted three fantastic albums - Everything So Far (2015), Cardinal (2016), and Skylight (2018) – and achieved massive critical acclaim and a widespread and devoted listenership. The band’s latest album (and first for Rough Trade) Marigold, arrived in January of 2020, and its themes of reflection and resilience have resonated through an especially tumultuous year. Now with tours cancelled and time on their hands, the band have decided to put together something special for their fans.

Amperland, NY is yet another full album, this time accompanying a feature film of the same name. The collection features 21 brand new studio recordings spanning Pinegrove’s career and catalog, captured upstate in the house where the band lived and recorded for 4 years – a place they lovingly referred to as Amperland. But all good things (and leases) come to an end, and before they bid adieu to the space permanently, they gathered together for one last performance with friends and family.

Featuring original member and keyboardist / vocalist Nandi Rose (Half Waif) on many tracks – this collection will thrill old and new listeners alike – with the band breathing new life into fan favourites and deep cuts. From acoustic versions to unique arrangements featuring piano, pedal steel and organ, Amperland, NY touches on notes of folk and progressive rock previously unheard on their studio albums. This will be an essential addition to the Pinegrove catalog and encompasses all of the earnest and ecstatic live energy the band is known for.

The beautiful double album will be housed in a heavyweight matte gatefold package and comes with a fully annotated script and behind the scenes photos from the film.
