record store day 2011 exclusive. 500 only. two tracks, 29 minutes. following the word-of-mouth success of roll the dice's self-titled debut album, the swedish production duo have signed to the leaf label for the world - the album, released in a limited edition of 500 vinyl copies by the us digitalis label in 2010, sold out in a matter of days. their signature analogue sound gained roll the dice some high-profile fans, including kieran hebden, dan snaith, erol alkan, trevor jackson and fuck buttons, and earned the album a place in boomkat and phonica's top 30 albums of 2010 charts. this limited edition 12" ep in deluxe packaging (including a printed inner sleeve and two full-colour postcards) features two of the standout tracks from the debut album, recorded live in gothenburg in august 2010 - both tracks, the only music performed at the show, are extensively reworked and extended close to the fifteen minute mark, verifying the effortless power and control of these compositions. influenced by steve reich and the kosmische music of the 70s, there are also parallels to be drawn with contemporary artists such as emeralds, oneohtrix point never and gavin russom and delia gonzalez. the ep was mastered and cut by stefan betke (pole) in berlin.
