American funk/soul/jazz composer, vibraphone player, and artist. Roy Ayers was born on 10 September 1940 in Los Angeles, California, USA. With a musical upbringing thanks to his trombone playing father and piano teaching mother, Ayers became immersed in music from an early age.

Throughout his career as a prolific recording artist, Ayers has produced numerous hits including "Everybody Loves The Sunshine" and "Running Away". He has also collaborated with renowned musician Fela Kuti on the track "Africa - Centre Of The World", showcasing his versatility and talent across various genres.

In addition to his own success, Ayers is also known for being the father of Roy Ayers III. With a massive back catalogue of work and a unique blend of funk, soul, and jazz influences, Roy Ayers continues to captivate audiences worldwide with his exceptional musical abilities.

Liquid Love is taken from the digital version of the 2015 BBE released compilation of Roy's unreleased material, Virgin Ubiquity II, and is a wicked mid-tempo track where Roy's vibraphone complements an amazing female vocal arrangement to create harmonies and melody over a tough as you like breakbeat, bass line and keyboard riff. Coming from the 2004 initial release in the Virgin Ubiquity series of unreleased Roy Ayer's tracks, What's The T? is a more uptempo, bassline driven slab of dance floor funk. Augmented by a horn section and a huge female vocal from Merry Clayton over a hi-hat drumbeat, What's The T? is Roy Ayers and his musicians playing Roy's arrangements to perfection.
