BMG Rights Management, formerly known as Bertelsmann Music Group, is a global music conglomerate with a rich history in the industry. Originally formed in 1985 as a joint venture between Bertelsmann AG and RCA, BMG has since evolved into a powerhouse of music production and distribution.

In 1986, Bertelsmann acquired full ownership of RCA and Arista Records through the purchase of their joint venture's stock from General Electric. The following year, these labels were merged under the umbrella of Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG), solidifying its position as a major player in the music world.

In 2004, BMG joined forces with Sony Music to create Sony BMG Music Entertainment. However, in 2008, Bertelsmann sold its stake in the company, leading to the formation of BMG Rights Management. Today, BMG continues to thrive as a leading record label and distributor worldwide.

Scorpions is a Hard Rock band formed in 1965 in Hannover, Germany by Rudolf Schenker. They have experimented with various styles of Rock music including 1970's Hard Rock and 1980's Hair / Glam Metal (Heavy Metal). The band is best known for their iconic rock anthem "Rock You Like a Hurricane" and other popular songs like "No One Like You", "Send Me an Angel", "Still Loving You", and "Wind of Change". Scorpions was ranked #46 on VH1's "Greatest Artists of Hard Rock" television program and their song "Rock You Like a Hurricane" holds the #18 spot on VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs.

After performing for 45 years, Scorpions initially announced their retirement following the release of their album "Sting In The Tail". However, due to their love for touring and creating new music, they decided to continue. They have written new songs, released new albums, and continued to tour extensively. With over 100 million albums sold worldwide (some sources even mention sales exceeding 150 million), Scorpions have established themselves as one of the most successful rock bands in history.

Lovedrive marked the beginning of a new era in the history of the Scorpions. Guitarist Uli Jon Roth had left the band for good in 1978 after the band’s first Japan tour. The new man, Matthias Jabs, also came from Hanover and alongside him, Michael Schenker also joined the band in the studio. He contributed the solo parts on the songs "Lovedrive", "Another Piece of Meat" and "Coast To Coast". The result was a studio album with three exceptional guitarists and the music was correspondingly breathtaking. Lovedrive is the first classic Scorpions work of the post-Uli Jon Roth era, and it already showed all the characteristics that were to distinguish their music for decades to come: an almost perfect mix of beautiful ballads, fantastic songwriting, hard and aggressive power riffs and powerful grooves. Lovedrive features songs like "Holiday", which are still crowd favourites and part of every concert to this day. It was the first Scorpions album to reach the Top 100 of the American Billboard charts (#55).
