Touch and Go

Touch And Go Records was started in Lansing, Michigan, by Tesco Vee and Dave Stimson in 1981 as an outgrowth of Touch And Go Zine, a fanzine the duo published. Their intent was to document their local hardcore punk scene.

Necros bassist Corey Rusk hooked up with Tesco to help run the label soon after it started and assumed full control after Vee moved to Washington, DC, in 1983. In 1987, Rusk moved the label to Chicago, Illinois, where the label still resides.

Over the years, Touch And Go has issued records by influential bands like *The Jesus Lizard*, *Slint*, *Shellac*, and *Big Black*. However, in 2008, Rusk announced that the label would be cutting back on its activity and ending its distribution services due to the economic climate of the times.

back in stock - the lp version of 'excellent italian greyhound' comes packaged in a beautiful full colour gatefold sleeve. the lp version also includes a slipcover that was drawn and hand-silk-screened by friend jay ryan. audio quality is paramount, as always, with shellac. the lp was mastered entirely in the analog domain, using the dmm (direct metal mastering) process. the lps are being manufactured at rti in camarillo, ca, using their hq-180 system. the pressings are 180 gram audiophile quality. there will be no advertisements, no press or radio promotion, no e-promotion, no promotional or review copies, no promotional gimmick items, and otherwise no free lunch. the band will continue to play shows or tour at the same sporadic and relaxed pace as always. there is no correlation between shows and record releases. this is shellac's longest record. all the songs are about italy or greyhounds. on touch and go.
