On U Sound is a UK based experimental reggae/dub label founded by Adrian Sherwood. With a rich history and an impressive catalogue of releases, the label has become synonymous with innovative and boundary-pushing music. It's important to note that On U Sound should not be confused with the US based DJ/club remix label ON-USound.

EFA released some remastered titles with slightly altered cover artwork before going under in 2004. On-U started in the early 1980s and emerged from a fertile UK post-punk scene that was embracing Jamaican rhythms. As it developed the label came synonymous with its own updated brand of dub reggae and notably used the same core family of musicians who were put together in different combinations to make a multitude of groups, such as Dub Syndicate, African Head Charge, Singers and Players, Creation Rebel and New Age Steppers. Adrian Sherwood also developed a successful career as a producer and remixer for other labels, working with Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, The Fall, Blur, Primal Scream, Air and Lee Perry, amongst many others.
