Description
Steve Hillage, known for his exceptional work in Progressive Rock powerhouse Gong, Khan & pioneer of the Canterbury scene began his solo career in 1975. Venturing to other side of the world, Steve Hillage arrived in Los Angeles for the first time in January of 1977 to support E.L.O. on their US tour.
On January 27th & 31st a combined effort of 30,000 Los Angelenos was treated to the performance of a lifetime from Steve & his band. With many of attendees unfamiliar with Steve Hillage it was a whirlwind set that ignited the stage & could be argued stole the show from the legendary headliners.
The Forum set starts with 'The Salmon Song', from Steve's first solo album 'Fish Rising' & from then on, the material is entirely from his 1976 Top 10 UK album 'L'. All recordings are previously unreleased & were prepared personally from Steve's own archives.
Accompanying his performance in Los Angeles also comes three bonus tracks of live recordings taken from his encore on March 26th at London's prestigious Rainbow Theatre.
At long last, you can now feel the electricity crackle in the room & relive Steve Hillage's success with this truly exceptional, once in a lifetime performance.
L.A. Forum 31.1.77 is presented in a digipack with a 16-page booklet featuring original images taken at both shows.
