Japanese composer and prodcer Susumu Yokota's much-loved third album for The Leaf Label, licensed from his own Skintone label and originally released in September 2000. 'Sakura' ('cherry blossoms') was one of the label's first significant successes, achieving tens of thousands of sales worldwide almost entirely by word of mouth. Leaf released six Yokota albums in all, between 1999 and 2002 . The album takes on a new significance in light of Yokota's passing in March 2015. There have been heartfelt tributes to his work from all corners of the music world.
