BMG Rights Management, formerly known as Bertelsmann Music Group, is a global music conglomerate with a rich history in the industry. Originally formed in 1985 as a joint venture between Bertelsmann AG and RCA, BMG has since evolved into a powerhouse of music production and distribution.

In 1986, Bertelsmann acquired full ownership of RCA and Arista Records through the purchase of their joint venture's stock from General Electric. The following year, these labels were merged under the umbrella of Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG), solidifying its position as a major player in the music world.

In 2004, BMG joined forces with Sony Music to create Sony BMG Music Entertainment. However, in 2008, Bertelsmann sold its stake in the company, leading to the formation of BMG Rights Management. Today, BMG continues to thrive as a leading record label and distributor worldwide.

Long-standing UK indie rock band, The Charlatans, was founded in 1988 in the West Midlands by bassist Martin Blunt. With a rich musical history spanning over three decades, they have become a household name in the music industry. Known as The Charlatans UK in North America to avoid copyright issues with another '60s San Francisco psych rock group of the same name, their unique sound and captivating performances have garnered them a dedicated fan base worldwide.

The Charlatans - Tim Burgess, Mark Collins, Martin Blunt and Tony Rogers - release their twelfth album, Modern Nature on BMG Chrysalis. Modern Nature features eleven new tracks, including the limited edition 7" singles and 6 Music A List records 'Talking In Tones' and 'So Oh',&nbsp; as well as 'Come Home Baby', also A listed at 6 and recently added to the Radio 2 playlist.

The album was produced by The Charlatans and Jim Spencer and mixed by Craig Silvey (Arcade Fire, Portishead). The album features a cacophony of contributors from their three temporary drummers - Pete Salisbury of The Verve, Stephen Morris of New Order and Gabriel Gurnsey of DFA's avant-disco group Factory Floor, to Kate Bushs' backing singers Melanie Marshall and Sandra Marvin, strings by Sean O' Hagan and brass courtesy of Dexys' Big Jim Paterson. 

Q have already described the album as " one the finest of their career", whilst the Guardian have called it "a triumph". The album comes after a difficult year for the band following the death from brain cancer of their old friend and drummer Jon Brookes last year. Rogers says that they were determined to carry on to honour Brookes' memory.
