The Faces were an English Rock band formed in 1969 by members of the Small Faces after lead singer/guitarist Steve Marriott left that group to form Humble Pie. The remaining Small Faces—Ian McLagan (keyboards), Ronnie Lane (bass), and Kenney Jones (drums and percussion)—were joined by Ronnie Wood (guitar) and Rod Stewart (lead vocals), both from the Jeff Beck Group, and the new line-up was renamed *the Faces*.

With their energetic performances and unique blend of rock, blues, and folk influences, *the Faces* quickly gained a loyal following. Their raw sound and charismatic stage presence made them one of the most exciting live acts of their time.

Although they had a relatively short career together, *the Faces* released several successful albums including "First Step," "Long Player," and "A Nod Is as Good as a Wink... to a Blind Horse." Their hits like "Stay with Me" and "Ooh La La" remain beloved classics to this day.

Recorded for BBC TV and radio between 1971 and 1972 these eight tracks present the Faces in their prime. 

Sound quality is excellent throughout and the performances demonstrate the band’s versatility, moving from delicate ballads such as "Sweet Lady Mary" and "Tell Everyone" through to a riotous cover of The Temptations "(I Know I’m) Losing You".
