The Pineapple Thief is the musical vision of Bruce Soord, formerly with Vulgar Unicorn. He started TPT as an outlet for his music back in 1999.
In the spring of 2002, after the third album, Variations on a Dream, which was probably the album that gave TPT the boost they needed, reaching out to yet more people all over the world, Bruce decided to form a band to take his music to the fans. The band consisted of his close musical friends - former university band mate Jon Sykes on bass, Wayne Higgins on guitars, Matt O'Leary on keyboards and Keith Harrison on drums. Matt has since left but Steve Kitch (who co-produced and mixed the fourth album 10 Stories Down) has since joined to play keyboards. Wayne Higgins left the band in March 2008, but the group continues as a four-piece live act.
The first six albums were released on Cyclops records. In late 2007, the band were signed to Kscope Records who would later re-release their older albums.

The Pineapple Thief to release the Soord Sessions Volume 4 – frontman Bruce Soord’s solo acoustic live performances streamed during lockdown. Featured on this vinyl only release are two tracks from Versions Of The Truth and some classic tracks from The Pineapple Thief that hadn’t been played live for many years. Includes Versions of the Truth, In Exile and Demons.

CD: A deluxe 4CD set containing the complete sessions from Bruce Soord’s acoustic live performances streamed during the UK lockdown. Presented in a 48 page hardback book, which features an extended forward and notes on each session by Bruce plus previously unseen photos from the attic studio and images from the live streams along with technical and personal information on the equipment used.
