The Residents are a US avant-garde group based in San Francisco. They officially started with the release of "Meet The Residents" in 1974, although they had been collaborating since 1969 or earlier. Known for their concept albums, multimedia projects, and enigmatic nature, the band has worked with numerous guest stars and maintains a highly secretive identity. Their name was inspired by a rejection letter from Warner Bros. Records that simply addressed them as "Residents."

The album plus 11 unreleased recordings - all remastered from the Original Tapes. Includes the full legendary Oh Mummy show, the previously unknown German Slide Music recordings, Live Material, out-takes and unreleased mixes. Formed in the early 1970s, The Residents have been charting a unique path through the musical landscape for over 45 years. From far-out takes on pop music to highly conceptual, multi- platform projects, the band has refused to stand still, and continues to move in several different directions at once. Produced with the involvement of The Cryptic Corporation, and with full access to the band’s extensive tape archive, this package explores and expands the classic second album and related material. Including the remastered album and related singles, the previously unknown German Slide Music recordings, live-in-the-studio and concert material and a never-before-heard remix, this is The Residents as we’ve always wanted to hear them.
