His talent and dedication paid off when his first two albums under The Streets moniker were nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize: "Original Pirate Material" in 2002 and "A Grand Don't Come For Free" in 2004.
The summer of 2004 saw Mike Skinner achieve commercial success with the Top 5 hit "Fit But You Know It." He has graced both the dance tent and main stage at Reading Festival with captivating live performances that showcase his unique style. Tonga, the balloon filled rap, grime and dubstep party by Mike Skinner and Murkage Dave, had been a series of shoobs to remember. Copenhagen to Manchester to Berlin. Brum to Brixton.
