Parlophone is an anglicization of the German [l=Parlophon] label, registered as a trademark in 1902 by Max Straus and Heinrich Zuntz of [b]Salon Kinematograph Co. GmbH[/b], later merged into [l=Carl Lindström A.-G.]. The first Parlophon records are pressed in 1910. 

By 1923, Parlophone proper appears in London administered by English Lindström branch known as [l311921],  Parlophon records were pressed in London and sold locally. By 1926 extended operations extended to press for export in Australia (#cat A) until the australian factory [l=Parlophone Co. Ltd.] was created somewhere the next year. These companies were subsequently taken over by [l97841] in 1927, following its acquisition of [l275192] in 1926, thus becoming a constituent part of [l293204] (EMI) when that company merged with [l253617] in 1931.

The label largely operated as a Jazz and Novelty label until manager, [a=George Martin], signed the [a=The Beatles] in 1962. As a result of its subsequent success and profile, the label was earmarked for phasing out in 1973 in favour of [l=EMI] (the label), however the parlophone imprint continued to be used by registered trademark owner [l=EMI Records Ltd.] and affiliated companies.

In September 2012 following the acquisition of [l1330982]'s US and Asian interests by [l=Universal Music Group], Parlophone and the former EMI Records Ltd. were merged as the [l806790] (PLG Holdco Ltd.) and spun off to be sold. 

They were sold to [l=Warner Music Group] in March 2013.
The Parlophone label is now owned by [l=Parlophone Records Ltd.], the re-named EMI Records Ltd., itself a subsidiary of [l=Warner Music International].

The Beatles were not part of the Parlophone Label Group and their catalogue was acquired by [l=Universal].

Tina Turner, born on November 26, 1939 in Brownsville, Tennessee, was an American rock singer, actress and author. Known as 'The Queen Of Rock 'n' Roll', she possessed a powerful blues-soaked voice that captivated audiences worldwide. Turner's career took off in the 1960s with hits like "River Deep, Mountain High" alongside her husband at the time. Despite enduring years of abuse, she found the strength to separate from him and share her story in her autobiography "I, Tina". In the 1980s, producer Rupert Hine played a pivotal role in relaunching her career.

Turner made a remarkable comeback with singles such as "Let's Stay Together" and the album "Private Dancer", which propelled her back into mainstream success. She also showcased her acting skills as 'The Acid Queen' in "Tommy" and 'Aunt Entity' in "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome". Her single "We Don't Need Another Hero", featured in the film's theme song, became another chart-topping hit for Turner.

In 2008, after a period of semi-retirement, Turner embarked on her highly successful "Tina!: 50th Anniversary Tour", which became one of the biggest ticket-selling tours of that year. Revered by critics and fans alike, Rolling Stone magazine hailed Turner as "One of the greatest singers of all time." Her talent reached unprecedented

Originally released on 15 June 1993, What’s Love Got To Do With It was a commercial and critical success. The album was the soundtrack for the Tina Turner biographical film of the same name and reached #1 in the UK. The album went on to be a platinum record across the world. It was a collection of songs, some of which were re-recorded from Tina’s Ike and Tina Turner period, including ‘A Fool In Love’, as well a five brand new songs one of which - ‘I Don't Wanna Fight" - became a top 10 hit in both the UK. The album also includes Turner's version of The Trammps' disco classic "Disco Inferno", a song she had often performed live in concert in the late seventies but never previously recorded in studio. Two tracks from her 1984 breakthrough solo album Private Dancer are also included, the title track and a different version of "I Might Have Been Queen".
