The roots of Chrysalis stretch back to a tiny flat in West London in 1967, when former university social secretaries, Chris Wright and Terry Ellis, linked their flair for managing and booking bands to form the Ellis Wright Agency. After trying to release their bands' records via other companies, they decided to start their own label.

In 1968, they signed a licensing deal with Island Records with the proviso that if their acts achieved an agreed number of hits, they would be awarded a label of their own. Within a year, this tally was reached and Chrysalis Records was born.

Over the years, Chrysalis went through various ownership changes. In 1985, Chris Wright bought out Terry Ellis and later sold the label to EMI in 1991. EMI was then acquired by Universal Music Group in 2012 before selling the Parlophone Label Group (including Chrysalis) to Warner Music Group in 2013.

UFO is a British heavy metal/hard rock band that was formed in 1969. The group consists of vocalist Phil Mogg, drummer Andy Parker, guitarist Mick Bolton and bassist Pete Way. In 1973, they gained global recognition when German guitarist Michael Schenker joined the band after leaving Scorpions. Over the years, UFO has experienced several line-up changes but saw a surprising reunion in 1993 with the return of their former members. Despite Schenker's departure during the Walk On Water tour to focus on his own group MSG, Phil Mogg and Andy Parker remain as current members of UFO.

Regarded by many as one of the finest live albums of all time, Strangers in The Night captured UFO at the peak of their powers as a band. Originally released in 1979, this double album recorded during the bands October 1978 US tour, which can only be described a live greatest hits of the band’s repertoire.

8CD -T his new 8CD box set includes all 6 complete original concerts for the first time (5 previously unreleased) as well as a newly remastered version of the original album. Four of the shows have been newly mixed from the original tapes. The packaging is a 2-part rigid slipcase, 8 mini-lp style sleeves along with a 24-page booklet containing new sleeve notes by Michael Hann who has interviewed Phil Mogg, Andy Parker and Michael Schenker.
