Ultimate Painting was a UK duo consisting of Jack Cooper and James Hoare, who were active from 2014 to 2018. The group took its name from a piece of art created by the counterculture artists' community Drop City in southern Colorado. Initially brought together when Jack's band *Mazes* supported James' band *Veronica Falls* on tour, the two became friends and formed Ultimate Painting. Throughout their career, they collaborated with various backing musicians, creating a unique sound that blended elements of indie rock and psychedelic pop.

With their dreamy melodies and introspective lyrics, Ultimate Painting gained recognition for their distinct musical style. Drawing inspiration from artists like Happyness, Sam Evian, and Ulrika Spacek, they crafted songs that captivated listeners with their laid-back yet captivating charm. Their music resonated with fans who appreciated the blend of catchy hooks and thoughtful songwriting.
