Kosmische Kuriere

Kosmische Kuriere, the successor to Ohr, was a pioneering music label run by Rolf-Ulrich Kaiser. It started with three releases before changing its name to Kosmische Musik, also known as Cosmic Music in France. The label had three distinct types of labels throughout its original lifetime and was distributed by Metronome. Its iconic design was later featured on reissues by Bernhard Mikulski in the early 1980s.
During its original lifetime, Kosmische Kuriere / Kosmische Musik released a range of groundbreaking LPs. The label's design evolved over time, with different variations featuring center rings and raised dots. These releases were distributed by Metronome.
In addition to its original releases, the distinctive label design of Kosmische Kuriere / Kosmische Musik was also used on reissues in the early 1980s by Bernhard Mikulski for Pilz/Ohr/Kosmische Musik. These later reissues can be identified by their labelcode: LC 04124 / LC 4124.

Much sought-after Krautrock classic from 1973, now for the first time remastered from original analogue master tapes.&nbsp;Wegmüller was born in Bern, the son of Romani travellers, and grew up in homes and farms with foster parents. He travelled around Europe and India, making paintings and jewellery. He settled in Basel in 1957 and became an expert on the tarot. Working as a visual artist, Wegmüller designed a set of 22 tarot cards. His friend Timothy Leary introduced him to Rolf-Ulrich Kaiser of Ohr Records in Germany, and it was agreed that Wegmüller record an album on the theme of tarot, with musicians Klaus Schulze, two members of Ash Ra Tempel, Manuel Göttsching and Hartmut Enke, and other musicians collectively known as The Cosmic Jokers. The album was recorded in 1972 and released in 1973, with an elaborate package that included a set of Wegmüller's cards. Wegmüller recites stories about each of the tarot cards on the album, which also contains lengthy instrumental passages.
