Album artwork for Weezer (The Black Album) by Weezer

Welcome to the dark side. The Black Album era has arrived. Weezer release their much anticipated twelfth studio album via Crush Music / Atlantic Records.

Following the release of Weezer (The White Album) in 2016, the band began working on what they were calling “The Black Album”, but as they worked they found the songs they were writing felt more like reveries from a beach at the end of the world. So instead of forcing a different direction, they continued on with recording what became Pacific Daydream (2017), before re-visiting and completing their initial darker concept.

The Dave Sitek (TV On The Radio) produced record is the fifth colour coded eponymous album from Weezer following their 1994 debut (The Blue Album), The Green Album (2001), The Red Album (2008), and The White Album (2016).
