Amancio D'Silva

Amancio D'Silva was an Indian-born jazz guitarist, composer, and teacher based in the UK. He is well-known for his own recordings as well as his collaborations with other British musicians, including Joe Harriott and Stan Tracey.

Born on 19 March 1936 in Bombay (now Mumbai), India, D'Silva made a significant impact on the jazz scene during his career. His unique style and innovative approach to guitar playing earned him recognition both nationally and internationally.

Tragically, D'Silva passed away on 17 July 1996 in Brighton, England at the age of 60. Despite his untimely death, his contributions to jazz music continue to inspire aspiring musicians around the world.
