Charlie Haden was an American jazz double bassist, born on August 6, 1937 in Shenandoah, Iowa. He passed away on July 11, 2014 in Los Angeles, California. Haden was married to Ruth Cameron Haden and together they had four children: Josh Haden, Petra Haden, Tanya Haden, and Rachel Haden. Tanya is married to Jack Black.
Haden's music career spanned several decades and he made significant contributions to the jazz genre. His unique style and skill on the double bass set him apart as a highly respected musician. Throughout his career, he collaborated with renowned artists such as Carla Bley, Bobo Stenson Trio, Keith Jarrett Trio, Charles Lloyd, Charlie Haden Quartet West and many others.
