Chet Baker

Chet Baker

Chet Baker was an American jazz trumpeter and singer born in Yale, Oklahoma. Emerging in the early 1950s, he became one of cool jazz’s defining voices, heard to striking effect on Chet Baker Sings. Drug addiction repeatedly disrupted his career, but he continued recording, including prolific European work in the 1980s before his death in Amsterdam in 1988.
