Ignea

IGNEA is a Ukrainian band that started in 2011 under the name Parallax. They were the first Ukrainian band to play oriental metal, but their music incorporates elements from various subgenres of metal. In 2013, they recorded their debut EP titled Sputnik at Morton Studio in Ukraine. The band later changed its name to IGNEA and released a new work called Alga in 2015, which was a tribute to Crimeans defending their land. This song was recorded with a full symphonic orchestra and gained over a million views on YouTube. Recently, IGNEA opened for Orphaned Land, fathers of oriental metal, in Kiev.

On February 16th, IGNEA released their first full-length album "The Sign of Faith". The album has a heavier sound with growls and authentic middle-eastern melodies common in oriental metal genre. However, it still maintains melodic fundamentals and an OST feeling. They also released a video for the first song of the album called "Şeytanu Akbar", which carries the idea of peace despite its provocative title.

IGNEA's music speaks against killing other people due to regime, faith or moral principles. While focusing on Islamic terrorism as one of the social plagues of the 21st century, this message applies to every human regardless of religion.
