Keane are an English rock band from Battle, East Sussex. They have gained worldwide recognition for their unique sound and captivating performances. Originally a guitar band with Dominic Scott, they underwent a transformation in 2001 when they embraced the piano as their primary instrument and showcased Tom Chaplin's soft voice and falsetto as the frontman. Their third LP, Perfect Symmetry, introduced a wider range of electronic textures while still incorporating guitars into their music.

With roots dating back to 1999, Keane's earliest known recordings reflect their evolution as musicians over the years. After parting ways with Scott in late 2001, the band embarked on a new musical journey that allowed them to explore different sounds and experiment with various instruments.

Their album Perfect Symmetry marked a significant turning point for Keane as it demonstrated their willingness to embrace electronic elements alongside traditional rock instrumentation. This evolution was evident during the promotional tour following their previous album Under the Iron Sea.
