Nightwish

Nightwish is a symphonic heavy metal band from Kitee, Finland. Founded in 1996 by Tuomas Holopainen, the group started as an acoustic band before transitioning to heavy metal in 1997. With several lead vocalist changes over the years, they have now settled on Floor Jansen since 2013. Despite facing challenges with drummer Jukka Nevalainen's departure in 2019 and Marco Hietala's exit in 2021, Nightwish continues to captivate audiences with their unique sound.

The current line-up includes Tuomas Holopainen on keyboards, Emppu Vuorinen on guitars, Floor Jansen providing vocals, Troy Donockley playing flutes and pipes, whistles by Kai Hahto on drums since 2019 (previously a touring/session member from 2014-2019), and Jukka Koskinen joining as bassist in 2022 (formerly a touring/session member from 2021-2022).

Notable previous members include Tarja Turunen as the original vocalist until 2005, Jukka Nevalainen as the drummer until his hiatus in 2014 due to health issues (insomnia), Sami Vänskä as bassist from 1998-2001, Marco Hietala serving as bassist and vocalist from 2001-2021, and Anette Olzon taking over vocal
