Outkast brought Atlanta to the centre of hip-hop. Formed in 1992 by André 3000 and Big Boi, the duo stretched Southern rap into something stranger, looser and more expansive across Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, ATLiens, Aquemini and Stankonia, without losing their pop instinct or local identity.
