Portishead

Portishead is an English band formed in 1991 in Bristol. They are widely recognized as pioneers of trip hop music and have made a significant impact on the genre. The band consists of Geoff Barrow, Beth Gibbons, and Adrian Utley, with Dave McDonald also contributing as an engineer on their early records. Portishead's debut album, Dummy, released in 1994, received critical acclaim and established them as a force to be reckoned with. They followed up with two more studio albums: Portishead in 1997 and Third in 2008.

The name "Portishead" comes from the town located eight miles west of Bristol along the coast that inspired them. Known for their mesmerizing live performances, the band occasionally collaborated with DJ Andy Smith during their shows.
