Teddy Pendergrass

Known as Teddy P, TP, or Teddy Bear, he began his music career as a drummer for Harold Melvin And The Blue Notes in 1970. Over time, Pendergrass transitioned to become the lead singer of the band. In 1982, tragedy struck when Pendergrass was involved in a car accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Despite this setback, he continued to make music and inspire others. In 2006, Pendergrass announced his retirement from the industry but made a brief return in 2007 for Teddy 25: A Celebration of Life, Hope & Possibilities. This event marked the anniversary of his accident and raised funds for his charity organization - The Teddy Pendergrass Alliance.
