The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation

The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation is the live improv alter ego of The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble. Formed in early 2007, this experimental music group consisted of several members from TKDE along with guest musicians. Their releases are all live concert recordings, showcasing their unique and captivating performances.

The last lineup of The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation included Jason Köhnen on bass and FX, Eelco Bosman on guitar, Hilary Jeffery on trombone and oscillator, Gideon Kiers on drums and electronics production, Charlotte Cegarra on vocals, and Nina Hitz on cello. Together, they created a mesmerizing blend of sounds that pushed the boundaries of traditional jazz.

Although the band split in late 2013, their influence can still be felt today. Artists like Povarovo, Bohren & Der Club Of Gore, and Lustmord have been inspired by their experimental approach to music. With each live recording capturing the raw energy and improvisation of their performances, The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation remains an important part of the avant-garde music scene.
