Black Saint

Black Saint

Black Saint is a renowned music label that was established in Italy by Giacomo Pellicciotti in 1975. It later came under the leadership of Giovanni Bonandrini in 1978, and subsequently his son Flavio Bonandrini took over. With a rich history spanning over 30 years, Black Saint specializes in Jazz, Improvised, Experimental, Free and Avant Garde Music.

During its early years from 1975 to 1979, Black Saint collaborated with various distribution companies including [Distribution Company A], [Distribution Company B], [Distribution Company C], and [Distribution Company D]. However, starting from 1979, all Black Saint releases were distributed exclusively by [Distribution Company X].

In 2008, Black Saint along with its sister label for modern jazz called Soul Note was acquired by C.A.M., a Rome-based company founded in 2000. As part of this acquisition, CAM Jazz began reissuing the extensive catalog of Black Saint which comprises more than 190 albums. These reissues faithfully preserve the original artwork associated with each album.
