Wharf Cat

Wharf Cat is a Brooklyn label with a catalogue that moves easily between present-tense underground rock and carefully chosen archival work. Founded in 2011, it has released records by artists including Bambara, Public Practice, Water From Your Eyes and Open Head, while also putting out projects by Drop Nineteens, Bush Tetras and La Peste.

That mix says a lot about the label's character. Wharf Cat has a clear interest in music with edge and momentum, but it is not tied to one narrow lane, making room for current bands, compilations and reissues that connect different corners of independent music without flattening their differences.
