Cock Sparrer is a band from the East End of London that started in 1972 under the name Cock Sparrow. They later changed their name to Cock Sparrer in 1976. Initially, their sound was Pub Rock but evolved into Street Punk and subsequently Oi! after the release of Gary Bushell's first Oi! sampler in 1980.
With over four decades of experience, Cock Sparrer has established themselves as influential figures in the punk rock scene. Their music resonates with fans who appreciate their unique blend of energy and attitude.
From their early days playing at local pubs to headlining major festivals around the world, Cock Sparrer continues to captivate audiences with their powerful performances and timeless anthems. Hand On Heart is punk legends Cock Sparrer 8th and final album. No-one (band included) expected any more new songs after 2017s excellent Forever album. But lockdown came and with time on their hands and plenty to still say the band have recorded their strongest album yet. 10 new songs, all with the trademark anthemic sound that Sparrer are known for with a few surprises thrown in. Hooks, melodies, strong mob chorus’s and String arranger Simon Dobson (Bring Me The Horizon / Mike Oldfield) adding something classy and unique to a track that is a ‘hair on the back of your neck’ moment.

The band have always had great songs but usually the studio budget went down the pub! Not so with Hand On Heart. Produced by James Bragg and guitarist Daryl Smith, they brought in Grammy winning 2022 UK Mastering Engineer of the year, Kevin Tuffy to do the final mastering. Resulting in their best sounding album from their 52 year career.
