He is best known for his numerous scores and themes, including the Academy Award-winning original score for "Love Story" in 1970. Throughout his career, Lai worked with popular French recording artists such as Edith Piaf, Mireille Mathieu, and Elton John. In addition to composing music, he also showcased his talent as an accordion player.
