Gerry Rafferty was a Scottish guitarist, singer, and songwriter known for his solo hits "Baker Street" and "Right Down the Line", as well as his work with the band Stealers Wheel on "Stuck in the Middle with You". Born into a working-class family in Paisley, Scotland, Rafferty's musical upbringing included Irish and Scottish folk songs taught by his mother. Influenced by The Beatles and Bob Dylan, he joined the folk-pop band The Humblebums before pursuing a successful solo career. His album "City to City" featured the iconic song "Baker Street".
Born on April 16th, 1947 in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, Gerry Rafferty sadly passed away at age 63 on January 4th, 2011 due to liver and kidney problems at his daughter's home in Stroud, Gloucestershire, England.
Rafferty's musical legacy continues to resonate with fans worldwide through his timeless songs that showcase his exceptional talent as a musician.

City to City is the second solo studio album by Scottish singer-songwriter Gerry Rafferty, released on 20 January 1978 by United Artists Records. It was Rafferty's first solo release in six years—and first release of any kind since 1975—due to his tenure in the band Stealers Wheel and subsequent legal proceedings which prevented Rafferty from releasing any new solo recordings for the next three years. The album was well received, peaking at No. 1 in the US and going Platinum, as well as reaching No. 6 in the UK Albums Chart and achieving Gold status. "Baker Street", "Right Down the Line" and "Home and Dry" were successfully released as singles.
