Kittie is a Canadian metal band formed in London, Ontario in 1996. The band was founded by Mercedes Lander and Fallon Bowman, who met in gymnastics class and discovered their shared love for music. They were later joined by Mercedes' sister Morgan Lander and Tanya Candler to complete the initial lineup. Kittie recorded their first full-length album in 1999.

Over the years, Kittie experienced several lineup changes due to various reasons including management issues and label struggles. Despite these challenges, they continued to release successful albums such as "Oracle" which became a big hit. Jennifer Arroyo and Lisa Marx joined the band as replacements for previous members.

In 2005, Kittie announced new members Tara Mcleod on guitar and Trish Doan on bass. They released another album titled "Funeral for Yesterday" the following year. Unfortunately, Trish Doan passed away at the age of 31 in 2017.

The current lineup of Kittie consists of Mercedes Lander on drums and backing vocals, Morgan Lander on guitar and lead vocals, Tara McLeod on guitar, and Ivy Vujic on bass.

Record Store Day is an annual event inaugurated in 2007 to "celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store". Held on one Saturday every April and every Black Friday in November, the day brings together fans, artists, and thousands of independent record stores around the world.

Until the End is the third album by the Canadian heavy metal band Kittie, released by independent label Artemis in 2004. It included the single "Into the Darkness" which made its way to radio stations in June that year. A music video was also produced for the song. "Into The Darkness" made its video debut on MTV2's Headbangers Ball and peaked at #41 on the US 'Radio  and  Records Active Rock Songs' chart and #116 on the Official UK Singles Chart. The track "Red Flags" was also released as a promotional single in the fall of 2004. The track "Pussy Sugar" also received significant airplay on the Hard Attack satellite radio station. It was the only album to feature Jennifer Arroyo on bass.  The album debuted at #105 in the Billboard Top 200, selling 19,000 copies. The album sold at least around 75,000 units in the United States.[6]
