Link Wray was an American rock guitarist, born on May 2, 1929 in Dunn, North Carolina. He was known for his innovative use of power chords with distorted sounds and the Larsen effect. In the early 1980s, he relocated to Denmark where he continued to make music until his death on November 5, 2005 in Copenhagen. With a musical career that spanned decades, Link Wray left a lasting impact on the rock genre.

Throughout his career, Link Wray's unique guitar style and experimental techniques set him apart as an innovator. He was one of the first guitarists to incorporate power chords and distortion into his music, influencing countless musicians who followed in his footsteps.

Born into a musical family, Link Wray's talent was nurtured from an early age. His brother [a289715] and [a1131708] were also musicians, while his parents [a6054741] and Lillian Mae "Lillie" Wray (née Coats) provided support and encouragement along the way.

Unquestionably one of the most iconic rock guitarists of all time, Link Wray rumbled out of the gates with a string of instrumental hits starting in the late '50s. This album presents another side of Link with nary an instrumental in sight, this time pairing his blistering fretwork with vocal tunes perfectly suited for the teen hops that Link and company tirelessly played for years. Released in an extremely limited number of copies in '64, this is the first ever reissue of one of his rarest LPs!
