Madness are an English ska band from Camden Town, London, that formed in 1976. They were one of the most prominent bands of the late 1970s and early 1980s 2 Tone ska revival. With their most recognized line-up of seven members, they continue to perform and have achieved great success throughout their career.

Madness reached the peak of their success in the early to mid-1980s. Alongside UB40, they spent a remarkable 214 weeks on the UK singles charts during that decade. This record held for the most weeks spent by a group in the 1980s UK singles charts. Notably, Madness accomplished this feat within a shorter time period from 1980 to 1986.

In 1988, some members embarked on individual projects but eventually reunited with Madness to continue creating their unique brand of ska music.

New Wave / Post Punk

Madness are back with their first album in 4 years. The album was produced by Clive Langer and Liam Watson and mixed by Brit Award winner Charlie Andrew. Tracks such as 'Mr Apples', 'Mumbo Jumbo', the Amy Winehouse referencing 'Blackbird' and the title track 'Can't Touch Us Now' capture the band's inimitable combination of pop, reggae and soul influences. As on many of Madness greatest moments, the lyrics are gloriously observational and humorous, beautifully framing life in London.
