Snail Mail is the indie rock solo project of guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Lindsey Jordan. Raised in Ellicott City, Maryland, Jordan self-released the four-song EP "Sticki" in 2015 and began touring under the Snail Mail moniker that same year. A year later she released the "Habit" EP through Sister Polygon Records, accompanied by former backing band members Ryan Viera (bass) and Shawn Durham (drums). After touring the US extensively and gaining traction on notable music blogs, Jordan signed with Matador Records in 2017. In 2018, she released her debut album "Lush" which was lauded by critics for its mesmerizing guitar work and emotional complexity.

Her current backing band includes Alex Bass on bass guitar, Ray Brown on drums, and Madeline McCormack on keyboards and guitar.

In 2021, Snail Mail announced their second album "Valentine," set to be released in November of that same year.

On Valentine, her sophomore album on Matador, Lindsey solidifies and defines this trajectory in a blaze of glory. In 10 songs, written over 2019-2020 by Jordan alone, we are taken on an adrenalizing odyssey of genuine originality in an era in which "indie" music has been reduced to gentle, homogenous pop composed mostly by ghost writers. Made with careful precision, Valentine shows an artist who has chosen to take her time.
