Formed in Los Angeles in 1981, The Bangles are an American band who had several hit singles throughout the 1980s. Their hits included "Walk Like An Egyptian", "Hazy Shade Of Winter", and the 1989 No.1 single "Eternal Flame". After officially breaking up in 1989, they reunited almost ten years later in 1998 and continued to make music together. In 2003, they released their first album since 1988's "Everything". The band has undergone some changes over the years, with Michael Steele leaving in 2005 and being replaced by Abby Travis for live appearances. They returned to the studio in 2009 to work on a new album which was released in September of 2011.

The current line-up of The Bangles includes Susanna Hoffs on vocals and guitar, Debbi Peterson on vocals, drums, and guitar, Vicki Peterson on vocals and lead guitar, and Annette Zilinskas on bass guitar and harmonica. These talented musicians have been part of the band since its formation or reformation.

The Bangles' music has left a lasting impact on the music industry with their catchy pop-rock sound. With their successful career spanning decades, they continue to captivate audiences with their timeless hits and energetic performances.

The last (2011) record released by The Bangles—now a trio of Susanna Hoffs and Debbi &amp; Vicki Peterson—is one of their best, a loving paean to ‘60s pop inspired in part by Sheila Weller’s book Girls Like Us, which intertwines the stories of Laurel Canyon singer-songwriters Joni Mitchell, Carole King, and Carly Simon. You’ll hear plenty of that Laurel Canyon vibe on this record from these three songwriters, as well as some nods to The Bangles’ power pop past, all blessed with the vocal harmony arrangements that the group’s fans treasure.
