A lost Chantays LP that's locked in and leaving a foamie! A Dawning Sun, largely recorded in '66, sees the originators of "Pipeline" riding another pearler of a platter! These 10 lost tracks come from the tape archive of Richard Delvy (Belairs, Challengers) and features the bands unique take on "Mr. Moto," some new surf anthems and even a trio of vocal cuts for when you just hit out or the wave eats your lunch! It also features a killer instrumental cover of The Fortunes' "You've Got Your Troubles." Lost for over 50 years, these sound waves are finally ready to ride!“Pipeline” is one of the most recognized instrumental surf rock songs of the 1960’s. It was written by two young men from Santa Ana, California. Their group was called the Chantays. "Pipeline" has sold over a million copies since it was first released in December of 1962. Many modern guitarists were inspired by the melody and splashy reverb guitar runs in ‘Pipeline’ and many learned to play the guitar because of “Pipeline.” Recently, some unreleased master tapes recorded by the Chantays have been unearthed, so we will go back and take another look at the Chantays history and the new information recently recovered.
