Thurston Moore is an American guitarist and vocalist, born on 25 July 1958 in Coral Gables, Florida. He co-founded Sonic Youth in 1981 and is best known for his role as the band's guitarist and vocalist. Raised in Bethel, Connecticut, he was taught guitar by Glenn Branca. Thurston Moore married Sonic Youth bassist Kim Gordon in 1984, but they separated in 2011 and divorced in 2013. Alongside his music career, he also runs the Ecstatic Peace! label.

Thurston Moore is a renowned American guitarist and vocalist who gained fame as a founding member of Sonic Youth. Born on July 25th, 1958 in Coral Gables, Florida and raised in Bethel, Connecticut; he received guitar lessons from the esteemed Glenn Branca. Although based primarily in New York City throughout his music career, Thurston has recently relocated to Stoke Newington, United Kingdom.

In addition to being a prominent musician with Sonic Youth since its establishment in 1981 alongside other talented members such as Kim Gordon (whom he married), Thurston Moore has also ventured into running the Ecstatic Peace! label. This multifaceted artist continues to leave an indelible mark on the music industry through his exceptional talents both as a performer and entrepreneur.
